Eric and Rashi Wiese

Eric and Rashi Wiese are the husband-and-wife team behind Save the Dog, a docuseries dedicated to reshaping the way the world sees rescue dogs.

With a shared passion for rescue, behavior, and storytelling, they’ve made it their mission to advocate for dogs who have been misunderstood, forgotten, or given up on. Together, they co-founded Happy Puppy LA, a Fear Free training and boarding facility in Los Angeles, and The WRARE Foundation, a nonprofit committed to dog rescue and rehabilitation.

Eric is a Certified Animal Behavior Consultant with decades of hands-on experience. From childhood dogs to African pygmy hedgehogs and other exotics, animals have always been a central part of his life. As CEO of Happy Puppy LA, he brings a science-based, positive approach to training and rehabilitation—helping even the most fearful dogs rediscover trust. He is Fear Free Certified, a member of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC), the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT), and an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Eric is driven by a desire to give dogs a voice and to help people better understand their animals through education and empathy.

Rashi holds a psychology degree from Boston University and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Southern California. As COO of Happy Puppy LA, she combines her passion for animal welfare with an entrepreneurial spirit and a deep understanding of the emotional bond between people and dogs. Though she didn’t grow up with animals, she fell in love with dogs as an adult. This experience gave her insight into how cultural and systemic factors shape the way we care for dogs and how many people simply don’t have access to kind, evidence-based methodologies.  Rashi is dedicated to promoting empathy through humane training and accessible, science-based resources.

In addition to their daily work with canines, Eric and Rashi co-hosted the Emmy Award-winning TV series Lucky Dog (seasons 8, 9, and 10). Now, through Save the Dog, they showcase the resilience of rescue dogs—the challenges they face, and the behind-the-scenes process of rehabilitation, training, and adoption.

At home, Eric and Rashi are proud parents to two beautiful daughters and their beloved nine rescue dogs. Their lives are filled with purpose and the belief that every dog deserves compassion, understanding, and a loving home.
